PART I - From A Beary Good Hostel to Rucksacks Inn
We booked our stay 2 week before the trip, so we only managed to get 6 nights at A Beary Good Hostel. (Fully Booked)
Here's a little tips for backpackers - Book and manage your accommodation AT LEAST 4 weeks before, especially places like backpackers hostels.
So, it's time to say goodbye.
A Beary Good Hostel was opened on February 14, 2010. Everything here is new, clean and organised.
Most important friendly hosts are at your services 24 hours.
Hot shower, softly bed, breakfast, wifi, good location & clean --- ain't these all we need?
The best thing is you can know a lot of friends from all over the world.
Seriously.
With Nas (our warm host, migrated to Melbourne) and Vincent (Bangkok)
NEXT --- Move to RUCKSACKS INN
Rucksacks Inn is located in Hong Kong street. Well, it's 5 MIN walk from Clarke Quay MRT !
"Hey...reach edi ar? Why so far one?"
"Not used la...A Beary Good Hostel just takes us 20 STEPS from MRT station!"
Pampered, now we complained for 5 minutes walk.
SO, WHY WE CHOSE RUCKSACKS INN?
Rucksacks Inn is the 2009 No. 1 Hostel in Singapore; Top 3 in Asia !
Of course the rate is slightly higher, $26 for dormitory room.
Walking up the staircase...don't really like...
A wall with positive comments from backpackers over the world
Checking in, another friendly host...guess what she's a Malaysian
Living hall with newspapers, travel brochures, TV, games, 3 PCs
Free "breakfast" at any time
This's our room. Everyone is given a locker.
Room fits more people than A Beary Good Hostel, but to be honest I still prefer the atmosphere of the later.

PART II - WALKATHON AROUND CENTRAL DISTRICT
After settled down, we had our lunch at nearby Macpherson Barbeque Seafood (highly recommended by the host)
The grilled, barbeque sotong & lala are really best! MUST TRY!
Girls continued their shopping in Vivocity, while we guys started our walkathon!
It's a really long walk!
Singapore Parliament
Supreme Court
Old Supreme Court
Singapore's Duck Tour; ride on road or cruise on sea---without the hassle of switching craft!
FUNAN IT Mall
It's a upmarket IT mall... if you want some bargains or 2nd hand electronic products, go to Sim Lim square
Basically it's like a high class Low Yat Plaza
PUBLIC TRANSPORT PART III
We passed through SMRT HQ
This is the current MRT lines (2010)
Clear and Easy ride!
It already covers most of the part in the island, you feel no problem travelling from one place to another, yet Singapore government plans ahead.
MRT expansion and future plans! WOW!
New Circle Lines will be opened completely this year and Downtown Lines are in the construction to boost up public transport usage to 70%
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And this is our beloved KL LRT + Monorail + KTM
Apa ini? Such a mess!
KTM? Tunggu lama lama lah! and beware of pick-pocket
KL LRT and Monorails don't have proper and convenience interchange stations...you have to walk under the sun or soak into rain...like the Dang Wangi station to Bukit Nanas! I experienced that!
Singapore MRT connects almost every possible shopping malls... Orchard Road shopping malls to Vivocity, Suntec City Malls, Bugis Junction, Iluma and etc...no problem!
Malaysia?
Midvalley The Gardens to Sunway? One U to Bukit Bintang?
So sorry you have to drive...and please be patient in the jam jam jam!
Ohh ya...heard that Malaysia 10th Plan is going to construct a RM50 billions MRT for Klang Valley... but why never built that 10 years ago? Why built LRT and monorail then?
Why never planned properly and solve problems once and for all?
Malaysian politicians don't have to go far to study MRT, come Singapore.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We continued our walk to Chijmes.
This's Ting Yik's favourite! He's a big Japanese fan!
Singapore is not just interesting on the ground, beneath it lies some treasures.
Like this one City Link Mall.
It's a 1 KM long underground shopping mall, linking MRT stations to Suntec City Mall.
Remember Kuishin Bo Japanese Buffet with my Xiao Shu?
It's here in Suntec City Mall
The most unique Food Republic
I Tried Old Chang Kee OO Kuai & TY Curry Puff
Curry Puff is nice!
This fountain situated in Suntec Mall. Let pics do the talk
from google
from google
HUAT arr!!!
All Circle Lines (Latest MRT lines) escalators are like this.
Then, we proceed purposely from Suntec to Bugis Junction for some gifts! Got MRT everywhere is not far.

PART IV - SEXY SINGAPORE SKYLINE
So, where's the best place to see entire Singapore skyline?
$30 for a 30-min ride on Singapore Flyer?
Not necessary if you want small $ for big thing!
Singapore faced serious housing shortage problem after independence.
Due to land constraints, high-density flats are built.
They call it HDB flat.
We're are coming here! World's tallest public housing building!
Georgetown feel?
The Pinnacle @ Duxton!
Another award-winning project by my Xiao Shu company, RSP Architects Planners & Engineers
From low cost flat to condominium alike --- this is the future of HDB!
A historical significance put forward by Lee Kuan Yew in his constitution Tanjong Pagar
Basketball court
Xiao Shu told us to visit there after 6pm, and you can enjoy 3 scenes together.
Day, Sunset & Night
Catch the sun
On top of the 50th floor, you can enjoy a panoramic 360 degree view of Singapore
Can you spot Universal Studio we went yesterday?
Sentosa Cove - Exclusive Oceanfront Residential Community
$20 million above
Singapore Skyline!
Here, you relax and embrace the wind breeze
From a British colonial post to today's leading metropolitan
Here you can sit down and enjoy
Pinnacle@Duxton has world's largest sky garden
See how relaxing is Jin Yan
When night falls...
Vibrant city never sleeps
Can you see Orchard Road and the ION Residence (ION Orchard) building?
Come on Singapore!
Ohhh no...this's the ugliest photo of all...=.= wrong pose la
This one is the right pose!
We spent 2 hours on top of The Pinnacle, enjoyed the entire city view, yes, with an entrance fee
of just $ 5.
Enjoy virtual view here - http://www.singaporevr.com/vrs/Pinnacle@Duxton/pinnacle@duxton.html
*********************************************************************************
PART V --- DINNER @ LAU PA SAT & BOAT QUAY
A well-organised food court in historical building
It's a hawker centre that opens 24 hours
There's live band on the stage at the centre of the market
After dinner, we went to Boat Quay. It's very much alike Clare Quay, but here mainly are seafood businesses.
A night stroll along Boat Quay with your loved one, not bad huh?
On the way back to Rucksack Inns, we passed through Elgin Bridge Underpass!
This's where all fun things started!
Let's jump!
Ting Yik anti - gravity?
Nice one!
**********************************************************************************
PART VI --- JUST FOR FUN @ ELGIN BRIDGE UNDERPASS
take 1
take 2
nearer
nearer!
Hahaz! Here ends day 7!

These pics are totally fascinating…thank you!! I just can’t wait to get to this great place and stay at one of the nice discount hotels in Singapore.
曾经在那里工作有半年的时间。照片中的那些地方我都很喜欢,尤其是Tanjong Pagar。 我觉得那是全新加波最有文化和历史的地方。
我怀念的新加波。

Hey there, I found your site blogger.com while browsing http:
//weichean.blogspot.com/. Just wondering, have you ever
thought of incorporating further content to your blog posts?
It's true, what you say is helpful and all that. Nevertheless just think if you added some quality visuals or videos to give your posts just a little more "pop". Your material is awesome, but if you were to include more varied media, your blog could undeniably be among the best in its subject in comparison to other sites on .
Here is my web-site; http://my.sacramentochristiancenter.org
My name is %name&% and first off I want to say superb blog.
If you don't mind, I just have one quick question. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. Recently I just can't get my head clear so that
I'm ready to give attention to my ideas. I definitively do like writing, however it just seems like the first ten to 15 mins are lost merely just trying to determine how to start. Any ideas or suggestions?
