The vision of Youth Jam is to serve the purpose of impacting young Malaysians withentrepreneurship, creativity and technology enhancements.

With more than 10,000 youths flooded Penang Timesquares on the 29th - 30th August 2010, jamming the roads and roared when the clock stoked 12 midnight - It was Youth Jam 2010 which held for the 2nd time.

I personally am very excited and look forward to this very promising summit - this is when AIESEC in Malaysia & myHarapan come together.

WHAT?

Youth Nation Summit 2011 is an event organized under the Power of Y, an initiative that incorporates the best of youth leadership, practical industry knowledge and experience through a series of events and programs.

WHO?

A platform that gathers 500 Malaysian Youth Leaders who are passionate and dedicated to making positive changes in their communities and in the world.

HIGHLIGHTS?

Some of the highlights of the summit are Sustainability Expo, Leadership Activation, Skills Workshops, Youth to Business Forum, Youth to Government Forum, Youth Defined CSR Programs and Project Pitching where 20 selected youth leaders pitch their community-development initiatives for financial supports (training for pitching will be provided to the selected youth leaders prior to the summit).

To make our life better and change this world, it's all started with a Thought, then Talk and Actions.

"Ideals Worth Sharing" was all where TED first held in California, 1990. To date, more than 700 talks across the continents are available online and speakers like Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Google founders Larry Page, Jamie Oliver and many Noble Prize Winners speak for an inspiring 18-min in TED and TEDx Talks.

And for the 1st time in history, TED is happening in Penang, Malaysia.

It's named TEDxGurneyDrive.

Instead of writing formally what are the objectives and missions (which you can read in our official website and facebook page), I want to write why are we bringing TED to Penang.

Penang itself has a lot of stories to tell. From a British colonial to a vibrant melting pot it is today, Penang passed through a lot of ups and downs. And it's the People who embrace positive change even in turbulence times and make Penang what it is today.

Penang might not be the bustling metropolitan like Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. However, Penang itself is unique in terms of its lifestyle, roadside hawker foods, "~~kiamsiap"~~ attitude of some and rich history.

It is a blessed place with beautiful but now polluted beaches, located so near to the modern yet heritage-feel city with much greeneries like the Penang Hill, Youth Park and Botanical Garden.

There're a lot of proud stories here, which can inspire us to move forward. From a 65-year-old Aunty selling Char Kuey Teow along Macalister Road, middle age working adult in Bayan Lepas MNC to a 22-year-old USM undergraduate who fight for the future; all of these converge together to become a beautiful story.

This is why we are bringing TED to Penang. We want to let everyone who live, work or study in Penang to feel the prides and with the spirit, all can achieve greater heights in life.

So, TEDxGurneyDrive is not another talk. No, you don't come to listen to a talk.

The Winner of the "Alternative Noble Prize" and "UNEP Global 500"

A founder and one of the prime movers of several local and global citizens movements, among them the Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) founded in 1969, International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN) formed in 1979, Health Action International (HAI) in 1981 and Pesticide Action Network (PAN) formed in 1982.

2. Matthias Gelber

World Greenest Man in 2008

A global environmental speaker and entrepreneur. He is a board member of the International Network of Environmental Management, a non-profit organisation working with businesses internationally to inspire them to make their operations more environmentally friendly. Matthias has given environmental talks in 38 countries all over the world.

3. YB Phee Boon Poh

The Penang State Exco of Health and Welfare, Caring Society, Environment

His determination on bringing out his passion on social and environmental issues gains a lot of people’s support including the new initiative “Cleaner Greener Penang” and “Say No to Plastic Bags” Campaign.

4. Dato' Boonler Somchit

CEO & Founder of PSDC

Together with Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu, he founded PSDC (Penang Skills Development Centre), the first skills industry-led training centre to be set up in Malaysia. For more than two decades, they have trained over 150,000 participants in more than 7,000 courses. Today, they have a Membership of 155 companies.

5. Professor Dato' Ho Sinn Chye

Former Dean in Universiti Sains Malaysia. Now a Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Wawasan Open University, Penang who brings e-learning initiatives to the education industry.

6. Neil Walter

An entrepreneur for consulting business in the online games niche. He also wants to document his journey as an entrepreneur and share his success and failure with the world. Neil currently lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – and aims to visit 25 countries before he is 25 years old.

7. Tan Lay Seong

Most Outstanding Young Malaysia Award Winner

The founder of Great Ideals, Mr. Tan Lay Seong is the first life insurance manager to receive The Outstanding Young Malaysian Award (merit)(Personal Improvement And Accomplishment); Also, the youngest biography writer (Chinese & Englis version) in life insurance industry and released his own motivational and training CD/VCD; Mr.Tan is an international speaker and a regconised member in Persatuan Pemidato Malaysia. 5 consecutive years of winning Great Eastern Life Group Sales Manager National Champion of the year, breaking the 100-year record in the company.

8. Dato' Dr Goh Ban Lee

A senior fellow of Socio-Economic and Environmental Research Institute (SERI), Penang. He is also a columnist for TheSun newspapers in Malaysia, focusing on issues related to urban governance, housing and urban planning.

Once being Associate Professor in the School of Social Science in USM and a Vice principal of TARC, Dr Goh served as a member in several government bodies. He was also involved in projects conducted by international and regional organisations, including United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD), Urban Management Programme (UMP) of the United Nations Asia Pacific Region, and Asian Productivity Organization (APO)

9. Jazz Tan Yee Mei

L.O.V.E. (Lifting Others through Volunteer Engagement) documentation

I realized I've not written a single post on L.O.V.E. (Lifting Others through Volunteer Engagement). Since L.O.V.E. will be further developed into an annual project, here I write for a proper documentation.

L.O.V.E. which was held successfully on 25 January 2011 by AIESEC in USM in collaboration with The Right Livelihood College.

For the first time in a public university in Malaysia, civil society organizations, students, academics and university administrators came together and mobilized on an issue - volunteerism. More than 2,000 students attended this Community Service Festival at Dewan Kuliah Foyer (DK Foyer), which is the central location in USM.

Some 20 global and local NGOs (non-governmental organisations) showcased important social-economic issues through very creative and fun exhibition.

The objective of L.O.V.E. is to provide youths with one-stop volunteering opportunities to established NGOs in Penang and hence make a positive impact to this society.

On that particular day, more than 500 youths signed up as volunteers which far exceeded our expectation. Besides, many first time activity was brought in to USM like "Free Hugs" which advocates peace and understanding among mankind.

L.O.V.E. Community Service Festival was made possible because of this amazing team and support from AIESEC and USM authorities. Apart from that, our perfect advisor Dato' Anwar Fazal and partners from The Right Livelihood College played an imperative role in this success.

Orange has become L.O.V.E. tag color and Tuesday will be the day which L.O.V.E. Community Service Festival will be held every year. Deputy Vice Chancellor of USM, Prof Dato' Omar Osman has given it a green light for event next year and the ball has passed to the next committee team to make this event greater and even more successful.

网络流传证实属虚假　辐射污染没侵袭亚洲

（吉隆坡14日讯）网络上流传一则关于日本核电厂爆炸产生的辐射污染将侵袭亚洲国家的消息，证实是虚假。

日前网络上疯狂流传一则讯息，而内容则是：“英国广播公司快讯：日本政府承认核漏，亚洲国家应采必须措施，未来24小时内尽量留在室内，包住最易受辐射伤害的颈部。人民必须关闭门窗，采取额外的预防措施，辐射可能会于今日下午4时侵略菲律宾。”

菲律宾政府今日透过官方网站发表文告指出，民众不要相信此谣言，而这些谣言都是通过网络，手机短信，电子邮件传出。

Here are the facts:

- Although there has been two explosions in the Fukushima nuclear plant and a possible meltdown might occur, there has been no radiation leak yet that can reach other countries. In fact, only those inside the 12 mile radius from the plant are susceptible to current partial radiation leakage.

Calling for a quality, intellectual and professional campus election 2011

I am writing this post as a undergraduate, as well as a eligible voter for the next student representative council. And I believe this message is also the voice of many students here at least in Universiti Sains Malaysia.

First of all, congratulation to all candidates who have passed through the registration process. You all definitely deserve a hand of applause as it's never easy to go into this election. It takes a lot of courage.

So, today (19/2/2011), less than 48 hours before voting starts at 830am (21/2/2011) Monday at respective hostel and Kompleks Cahaya (For students staying outside USM)

We can expect mass campaign by all the candidates, seeing 11 candidates competing for 6 general seats; 26 contesting for 15 school seats, while 5 seats won uncontested; namely Seni, Sains Farmasi, Sains Komputer, Bahasa, Literasi &Terjemahan and Komunikasi.

All candidates also started campaigning, walking from cafe to cafe and e-campaigning through social networks too. And we watch videos candidates promoting themselves.

However we as USM, the APEX University students, should set a benchmark of having a quality, intellectual and professional campus election 2011.

We can see a lot of candidates promoting through self-introduction, background and achievements. But, most of them have not provided us what are their tangible plans if they are elected as MPP 2011/2012, which is more important.

I truly believe the issue should be more than kebajikan...kebajikan without any further contents.

Candidates naming process

We don't judge a candidate merely by his/her popularity, but what changes he/she can bring to this campus.

There are a lot more issues where our candidates have to answer, or at least, tell us their stand.

Just to name a few example:-

1. Unemployment rate among local undergraduates in Malaysia is 5% (According to Malaysiakini), which is higher than Malaysia average unemployment rate 3.5%; what are candidates' ideals or actions to solve this problem? (I believe quality of teaching & learning is very important)

2. Many students face problems when dealing with respective school, like: when registering courses in early semester, a Management student taking TITAS got different answers from different person in charge and etc.

3. E-Learning portal & @student.usm.my email not fully utilized. (Many still have to printing shop below library 1 to get study materials; class cancelled last minute without any email notification and etc)

4. Stand on AUKU and whether university students can take part in politics (It's debated in Parliament too, each of the candidate should have their own stand)

5. Tangible actions to make USM a more sustainable, truly green campus?

6. Bus services? (It's the issue every year, and previous candidates also promised to solve, however, ask yourself, are you satisfied with campus bus service today?)

There're a lot more issues that matter to every student.

Let us challenge our candidates to write out their clear manifesto with tangible actions through blogspot and facebook notes. Only then we judge who we have to vote as future leaders.

We call ourselves as APEX University students, we should equivalently do it by actions. Let start with this campus election, here we call for a quality, intellectual and professional campus election 2011.

19 things I did in year 2010.

1. Dancing Performance in USM

Finally in my 2nd year, I realized my dream to perform dancing in USM. It's a korean dance by the way! You know I like dancing so much.

2. Became a PPSL (Pembimbing Program Siswa Lestari)

a.k.a. facilitator for fresh juniors. This is the turning point of my university life, and ever since then I became very busy (according to Yee Leng:- busy = got something important to do) :P

3. Grew together with East Summit Wealth Management

Thanks to Xuxu, I met mentor Soon Lee whom advices are definitely worth to listen. Maybe, this is one of the better choices to escape the rat-race.

4. Took up position as a Manager/Director in AIESEC

To be precise, is Exchange Manager in Non-Corporate Relation Department. My amazing group and I had the opportunities to meet people from all walks of life, practiced management theories and are positive change agents =P Of course lots of works, but lots of fun!

5. Elected as NYDP 1/ Vice President of Majlis Penghuni Desasiswa (MPD Tekun)

To be honest, it's not easy to become student rep of 2,000 college residents. A lot of bureaucratic and work effectiveness have to be dealt with, I wish I can still bring changes to this organisation.

Graduates 2007 are just awesome. We managed to collect our targeted amount in just 4 days!

Now total fund raised is RM3.6M, still lack RM1.4M for a total of RM5M.

A lot of people have been asking...what is L.O.V.E.?

I try to describe what is L.O.V.E. here so you can get a clearer picture XD

L.O.V.E. - stands for Lifting Others through Volunteer Engagement. It's a Community Service Festival which connects established NGOs and youths to make this world a better place.

1st thing to remember:

When & Where is L.O.V.E.?

Date: 25 January 2011 (Tuesday)

Time:9am - 5pm

Venue: DK Foyer USM main campus, Penang

This ideal all started as my team, AIESEC in USM, dealing with lots of NGOs in Penang. We found out that there're a lot of awesome activities been carried out and making big impacts to the people around.

However, one of the bottom-necks NGOs face is - lack of manpower or volunteers.

Back to our university or college, many friends are saying:" I want to do something to this world...but where & how can I start now?"

Here, L.O.V.E. clicks perfectly.

L.O.V.E. is not just a project, but is also a movement.

It's a movement of all people come together, become a volunteer to any NGOs and you can choose to involve in community projects that attract you the most!

There'll be around 20 established NGOs coming to L.O.V.E., for instance, Consumer Association of Penang (CAP), World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), Water Watch Penang, St. Nicholas Home for the Blinds, Sahabat Alam Malaysia (SAM), Tzu Chi Foundation, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), USM Green Lung; and many more!

Are you familiar with any of them? If yes, then it's really great! If no, here's the chance to know these positive change agents more!

From issues of environmental sustainability, clean water, animals cruelty, disabled people, children rights to breastfeeding actions; you can take pledges with any of them and trust me, from these organisations you will see world in different perspective.

Besides, there'll be a lot more interesting activities too! Do you want to give Free Hugs to people passing by?

Questions are the Answers - for a happier life

I'm finally having my 'real' semester break after back from 3 days Youth Defined ETP/GTP in KL. It's an awesome seminar with youth leaders across Malaysia. A lot of inputs and outputs have been produced. Will talk about it in another post.

Now it's the best time to get some reading at home.

I've bought this book, like 2 years ago, what Anthony Robbins writes inside never fails to impress me.

Reading Chapter 8 moments earlier has broaden my perspective and would like to share here with you.

Many often we are not satisfied on current life, feel unhappy, emotionally unstable and having relationships problems; have you ever thought this is because we ask the wrong questions?

QUESTIONS ARE THE ANSWERS

If we want to change the quality of our lives, we should change our habitual questions.

We need to realize, what we do mostly day in and day out, is ask and answer questions.

Remember, ask and you shall receive. If you ask a terrible question, you'll get a terrible answer.

So if you ask, "Why can't I ever succeed?", it will tell you, "Because you're stupid," or "Because you don't deserve to do well"

But if you try to ask, "How can I succeed?", "What I can do to succeed?", the outcome will be totally different.

Google relationships

Questions determine everything you do in life, from your abilities to your relationships to your income. For example, many people fail to commit in relationships simply because they keep asking questions that create doubt: "What if there's somebody better out there? What if I commit myself now and miss out?"

What terribly disempowering question!

Sometimes these same people destroy the relationships with more horrible questions: "How come you always do this to me?" "Why don't you appreciate me?" "What if I were to leave right now - how would that make you feel?"

Compare this with:-

"How did I get so lucky to have you in my life?" "What do I love most about my husband/wife? How much better will our lives be as a result of our relationships?"

Same goes to persons who ain't doing well financially.

They ask questions like "What toys do I want right now? instead of "What plan do I need in order to achieve my ultimate financial goal?"

The questions you ask will determine where you focus, how you think, how you feel, and what you do.

This shapes your destiny.

And we can actually change how we feel in an instant, just by changing our focus!

Stop asking "How come I'm so depressed?" or "Why doesn't anybody like me?" as you will focus on and look for references to back up the idea that there is a reason to feel unloved or sad.

Try something like this, ask yourself "What are my most happy memories?" or "What's really great in my life right now?". You'll not only feel better but be able to contribute more to those around you!

If you're feeling really sad, there is only one reason:

It's because you're deleting all the reasons you could be feeling good.

And if you're feeling good, you're deleting all the bad things you could be focusing on!

Every morning when you wake up, ask some of these questions:

1. What am I happy in my life now?

2. What am I excited in my life now?

3. What am I proud in my life now?

4. What am I grateful in my life now?

5. What am I enjoying most in my life now?

6. What am I committed to in my life right now?

7. Who I love? Who loves me?

In the evening, ask these 3 questions:

1. What have I given today?

2. What did I learn today?

3. How has today added to the quality of my life or how can I use today as an investment in my future?

Straits Quay - Penang's 1st Retail Marina to re-define entertainment experience

2 new malls opened in Penang this week! The First Avenue Mall at Georgetown city centre and Straits Quay at Seri Tanjung Pinang, Tanjung Tokong.

1st Avenue Mall, opens progressively since 26 November and official launch on 3Q 2011

Although both are just soft launching with few of the tenants opened, but in the near future, latest by 3rd Quarter in 2011, the retail landscape in Penang will be changed! Not to mention the coming Gurney Paragon and Penang Timesquares 2nd Phase. Penang-lang will have more choices rather than the current Gurney Plaza and Queensbay Mall.

This post is about Straits Quay. I had passed through there few times but it was not opened to public then.

1. Yes, mega project has it pros. KLCC project has multiplied effect and is a success. It has not just become the landmark of Malaysia but sparked a property boom in the surrounding area which today boasts the city’s most expensive condominiums.

2. However, we should always be reminded that construction spending does stimulate the economy, but it does very little to create a high-income economy.

3. We’ve spent the past 20 years focusing on construction, and what has it done to Malaysia? Yes, we have some very nice infrastructures but still trapped in the middle-income group.

4. Malaysia has transformed a lot since independence and achieved some scale of success.

5. But we are not doing fast and good enough.

6. In the book “Pilot Studies on New Penang” edited by Ooi Kee Beng and Goh Ban Lee, it clearly stated late-comer nations must acquire industrial and technological capability through sustainable investment to catch up with advanced nations.

7. Asian Newly Industrialised Economics (NIEs) or popular known as 4 Small Dragons such as Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore did very well in this case.

11. The data has shown us clearly Malaysia has to work harder especially in terms of Research & Development.

12. Many agree that the key towards transformation is to focus on attracting and retaining human capital, good education system, ease of doing business, good governance, equal education and job opportunities, political stability and above all, focus more on R&D.

13. (Quote from The Edge) It’s disheartening as Budget 2011 just allocates RM482 million for R&D&C (Research & Development & Commercialization), which is a miserable 0.2% of total budget. Whereas South Korea allocates 3.37% of its GDP, a whopping R&D budget of RM84 billion which is almost 200 times than we do. In Singapore latest budget, they plan to spend 3.5% of their GDP on R&D, or RM7.7 billion a year. Malaysia R&D budget is just 6% of Singapore’s.

14. Now we know what is our strength and where we should work harder.

15. I’m a local undergraduate who loves my country Malaysia. It is my biggest wish to see Malaysia prospers and be a developed country. There’re already a lot of Malaysia's success stories such as Air Asia’s Tony Fernandes, the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong who founded Genting Group, CIMB’s Dato Sri Nazir Razak and PETRONAS.

16. Our neighbor countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines are developing progressively and might overtake us soon.

17. We have no time to waste.

18. What Malaysia will be 20 years later depends on what we do now.

19. Let’s us together, regardless of background, do our part for this nation.

1. Lying on my bed in the hot afternoon after exam paper, I flipped over the colorful pages of The Edge Malaysia and read through a lot of articles regarding Malaysia plans to transform into a high-income nation.

2. Moments later on Facebook, a friend of mine shared an article from Bloomberg which is about Singapore’s GDP has overtaken Malaysia’s, a country 478 times its size.

3. As a Malaysian, I really wish to see the transformation of my country towards a developed state which will give our people a better life. Here, I would like to share some opinions on Budget 2011 especially the controversial PNB 100-storey tower.

4. I’m particularly interested about the Greater KL Plan, one of the 12 National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) identified under the ambitious Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), which aims to double gross national income per capital to RM48, 000 from the present RM23, 700. (This means our wealth will double in less than 10 years, wow!)

5. The budget surprisingly focus seems to be on intensifying Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives in the form of allocation for the development of infrastructure support and various high-impact projects such the MRT (will write more through personal experience in 2 best MRT system in the world Taipei & Singapore), the Kuala Lumpur International Financial District (KLIFD) and Warisan Merdeka.

6. “Cities only grow or die, they don’t stand still” – said New South Wales premier Kristina Keneally at the recent Global CEO Conference 2010 in Sydney.

7. “Who does this century essentially belong to? Some say it belongs to Asia, China, Europe, India. I would say that this century belongs to cities. More and more of the global population will be living in cities. In fact by 2050, some estimate that 70% to 75% of population will live in cities, big and small. So whether we like it or not, cities would be the primary source of growth.” – Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng

8. And Kuala Lumpur is the only global city, or Alpha world city in Malaysia. Some others Alpha world city are Seoul, Madrid and Moscow while Hong Kong, Paris, Singapore, Tokyo, Shanghai are Alpha + world city. New York and London top the list in Alpha ++ world city.

9. Greater KL Plan is to introduce more life into the city, given its aim to almost double the population to 3 million from the current 1.8 millions. We now have 1.8 million people in KL but the business will be very much different with 3 million population. . Seoul, Tokyo and Shangai buzz with business activity because they have more than 10 million populations each.

10. Besides it plans to attract 200 new MNCs by 2020. Attracting 100 such firms will contribute about RM40 billion in annual GNI to Greater KL. There are now 1,600 MNCs based here, compared with 17,000 in Shanghai and 6,000 in Singapore.

11. However I shall discuss more on putting most of the resources into a single city while neglecting cities like Penang in different article.

12. The critics question the need for such a massive project at a time when the property market could be facing a glut. Although the money is funded by PNB own its own, many argue that it could be put in better use but not another mega infrastructure development.

13. PNB said it expected an 8% to 10% annual return from the project, which will tentatively have a gross floor area of 3 million sq ft.

14. PNB have enough money to finance the entire project, the 100-storey would be a 5 starts green building. On paper, it looks good but there’re a lot of questions that needs to be answered.

15. “The same happened when we wanted to build the Petronas Twin Tower” - The government defended the projects, saying it’s not wasteful and will have a strong multiplier effect and create many economic activities. And this 100-storey tallest tower will be the pride of nation and put us on the world map again.

16. However, when Petronas constructed the KLCC, it was the only large- scale integrated development in the city at when demand for high-grades offices was strong but this time, it is different.

17. Quoted The Edge Big Money, in the third quarter of this year, the incoming supply of office space in KL stood at 10.4 million sq ft. These will take another 3 to 4 years before they flood the market. Meanwhile, assuming the 3 million sq ft from PNB’s Warisan Merdeka come on stream in 2015, the city will have a total 13.4 million sq ft of office space.

18. This does not include other mega projects announced recently such as the 34 ha Kuala Lumpur International Financial District, the redevelopment of Royal Malaysian Air Force base near Sungai Besi, minutes way from the city centre there’s development in Mon’t Kiara- Dutamas as well the massive Rubber Research Institude townships in Sungai Buloh.

19. Then now there is already vacant office space in hand. Accoding to Napic, 58.5 million sq ft or 80.5% of KL office space is tenanted in 3Q of this year.

20. In the 1990s, before the Petronas Twin Towers were completed, the occupancy rate in KL reached a high of 98.1% in 1997. With the completion of KLCC, the occupancy rate fell to 82.1%.

21. In terms of timing, the completion of KLCC could not have been better.

22. And let us not confuse by the time when Malaysia achieved average GDP growth of 7.2% annually during the booming 1990s and had one of the highest FDI in Asia.

23. While PNB may move to this new tower and take 50% of it, however it will vacate Menara PNB, which it occupies. Nearby, the Felda Group is slated to move to Menara Felda in Platinum Park in a few years, leaving another old building empty. There’re opportunities as well as risk in every development.

24. This is what the data shows. Numbers do tell stories.

25. Although this project has a financially strong backer, PNB should study thoroughly before fully embarking on this plan. The 3 main points are KL office vacancies, traffic and not less important, design of the tower.

26. Most of the countries are in a race of building the tallest skyscraper in this 21 century.

27. By the time of completion, PNB 100-tower will not be the highest tower in this region too. It will be ranked as 8th, 9th or even 10th worldwide. When KLCC was completed it was the tallest. So just merely by "height" will it put us shining on the world map?

28. One of the example is Cambodia, which approved a 555 meter high tower in this early September. Yes, it will be built in the centre of its capital - Phnom Penh. Cambodia will have a 555 meter tower, which is taller than our Warisan Merdeka and KLCC, but does this mean that it's more developed than us?

29. Real estate agent Previndran Singhe of Zerin Properties once said: “It is good to have iconic developments. But we should do away with the perception that iconic developments mean tall buildings.” I fully agree.

30. I wish the current design is not the ultimate model as it is not attractive enough. Honestly speaking, it’s just like yet another tall tower. And it's not attractive enough. PNB should come out with a more attracting design. Something like this which has a "WOW" factor?

Uniquely Penang

Penang

The first trading post in the far east, Penang was founded by Sir Francis Light in 1786 and soon became one of the most important ports in Asia.

From European seasafers to traders from India, China and the Middle East; each new arrival left their mark here, creating what UNESCO World Heritage committee described as "...a unique architecture and cultural townscape without parallel anywhere in the East and Southeast Asia"

This rich and authentic tapestry of cultures, color, and colonial heritage makes a unique Penang.

Well, Penang is not as developed as KL and Singapore, but quoted from an article in The Edge;

"if Penang started to look like Klang Valley or other big city, then it would lose its own charm..."

Its nice food, greenery, beaches, not-so-hectic lifestyle yet a modern city make it the most popular choice in MM2H program.

This video should be promoted even as tourism purposes !

The film was shot in black and white scene without any dialog and selected few remarkable locations which strongly represent Penang Island originally.

The “Moon Seeker” played by a mysterious man, visiting historical sites and landmarks of Penang Island, while holding white balloons and releasing in designated locations, to represent L.O.V.E and peace toward human kind and mother earth.

The black and white scene is to show the support towards energy saving. The non dialog represents the support toward less noise pollution from industries. And the white balloon is to show the support of saving our mother earth from pollution.

Through this video, you'll see beautiful Penang in different level.

The Road Not Taken - Decision Making is "many thing"

This poem played in my mind out of middle of no where.

And it's one of my favourite poems of all time.

This's not a motivation post or whatsoever! Get enough of that! LOL!

"How many decisions you have to make each day?" So many. When you've many choices then sakit kepala more.

GOOGLE Road Not Taken always come out with this...

And then thought of putting this...since hot news is about the take-over of PLUS...LOL

But at last still like this most...Haha...I guess this kind of road wasn't there during Robert Frost's time :P

Read this for few time, trust me will get the real meaning inside ;-)

Many said communication skill is the key to success. Yes I do agree. But to me, decision making is somehow more important.

Who we are today are the result of decisions made 3 years back. Choices we make today will decide who we are tomorrow.

We Cannot Want ALL. When you gain something, you sure will lose something.

It's always about making decisions. And make a right one.

A girl chooses over 2 boys (vice versa :P)? STPM or College? To go to WAR? Build 100-stories Tower or not? Work or resign? 1 or 2? YES or NO?

Chinese idiom is very true also 一失足成千古恨. A wrong decision might bring disaster.

Whatever it's, be willing to make decision. If you know more ways to make effective decision, do share with me too! ;-)
